Woolly Rhino Art came about because its sister website (no longer live), Botanical Art Prints, was, by its very nature, strictly for botanical art.  I needed an outlet for everything that is not botanical. I spent a long time trying to come up with a name for the site and, one day - very late at night - the phrase "woolly rhino" popped into my head, unbidden and from nowhere I've ever been able to discern!  When I found I could still remember it the next morning, I decided that was a good sign and so here we are: Woolly Rhino Art.  Of course, I have since discovered that woolly rhinos actually existed...

As far as botanical art goes, it will be added (soon) either to this site or Celtic Fringe Crafts, depending on which seems more appropriate.

This is just one of the images I had fun creating. As you can see, it started off life as a photo of a plant (it looks almost 3D, textured, fabric-like...looking at it now) but I'm not sure that your serious botanist would appreciate its inclusion on what is, after all, a fairly serious Botanical Fine Art site. That's why it is included here. Along with all sorts of other images, quite a few of which also started out as botanical photographs, but which have morphed to the extent that they will be found here. But bear in mind that this is my latest site and it is nearly the end of November, so it may take a while before there is much to browse...

Some of the images are photographs and some of them have been edited in all sorts of weird ways to produce the finished images. I will try to include details of what I did and why, where it might be interesting. But the main thing is - to enjoy the images!

  • Images are only watermarked for inclusion on the website - the actual images you receive are NOT watermarked.
  • Everything on this site is original and isdesigned, printed and assembled by me.
